Reliable bulk tempeh

Another solid order of bulk organic tempeh. I've bought from Rhapsody Natural Foods a few times now, and they're consistently good. Shipping took about a week to get to me in Oregon, which is expected. The quality of the tempeh is always great for my weekly meal prep. No surprises, which is what I like.

Good miso, slow shipping

I ordered the red miso and some brown rice mochi. The miso has a really rich flavor, much better than what I usually find locally. The mochi was also quite good, arrived fresh. My only minor complaint is that shipping felt a bit slow; it took 8 days to reach me in Arizona. Everything was packaged well, though, and arrived cold as promised. Overall, a good experience, but I wish delivery was faster.

My go-to for tempeh

Needed to restock my organic tempeh supply, so I just went with Rhapsody Natural Foods again. Easy order process, didn't have any issues. Everything showed up in good shape, packed with ice packs. The tempeh is always fresh and tastes great. Pretty happy with it, same as last time.

Great value on first order

I was looking for some good quality natto and saw Rhapsody Natural Foods. I took advantage of a first-time buyer discount they had mentioned somewhere on their site. Got the small bean natto, and it was really fresh. The bulk pricing made it totally worth it compared to what I'd pay at a specialty store. Felt like I got a good deal without compromising on quality. I'll definitely check them out again for bulk purchases.

Hey, wondering if anyone's had Rhapsody's tempeh compared to like, Lightlife or Eden Foods? Is it actually worth the extra cost or is it pretty similar?

M Mike 1 month ago
Oh man, huge difference! I've had Lightlife and it's fine, but Rhapsody's tempeh just tastes... fresher, more alive? Especially the soy-free one, it has way more texture and a nutty flavor. Definitely worth it if you can swing it.

I think it depends what you're using it for. If it's just crumbled in a chili, maybe not. But if you're pan-frying it or marinating it as a main dish, Rhapsody is superior. Less bitter too, I find.

Does anyone know if their natto ships with ice packs or anything? Worried about it getting warm on the way to Arizona.

S Steve 1 month ago
They definitely pack it well for cold items! I'm in Texas and my natto and tempeh always arrive chilled. They use insulated packaging and ice packs. It's usually still cool to the touch.

Yeah, they send all their fermented stuff like natto cold. It should be fine. I had a shipment to Florida in summer and it was still good.

What's the deal with their mochi? Is it the chewy dessert kind or more for cooking? And is it shelf stable or does it need to go in the fridge right away?

M Megan 1 month ago
It's more for cooking, like grilling or putting in soup. Not the super sweet dessert mochi you might find at a Japanese restaurant. It's great pan-fried until crispy! As for storage, it's shelf-stable until you open it, then fridge it.

Yeah, totally agree, it's the savory kind of mochi. The brown rice mochi is awesome in miso soup. I think you can keep it in the pantry for a while before opening, then definitely fridge after. Check the package for exact dates, but it has a good shelf life.

Got a coupon code from somewhere, but can't find where to put it in checkout. Am I blind or is it hidden?

L Laura Romero 2 months ago
It's usually right on the checkout page, after you've put in your shipping details but before you finalize payment. Keep an eye out for a box that says 'Gift card or discount code'. Sometimes it's a small link you have to click to open the box.

Hmm, I rarely see codes from them, mostly just the bulk discounts. But yeah, if you have one, it should be pretty obvious in the cart or checkout. Maybe try looking for a 'promo code' field.

thinking about getting a bunch of miso. do they do any kind of discount if I buy multiple tubs, or is it just the flat price per item?

A Alex Foster 2 months ago
Yeah, they totally do! I bought a case of their sweet white miso a few months ago and got a decent chunk off the price. It's usually when you buy like 6 or 12 of something, they call it a 'case discount' or 'bulk discount' I think.

N Nick Z. 2 months ago
Yep, you'll see the price change per unit when you add more to your cart, especially with the miso and tempeh. Not usually a coupon code kinda deal, more like automatic tiered pricing.
